Jordan, Aug. 5 2026 – Somalia's Foreign Minister Abdisalam Ali on Wednesday reaffirmed Somalia's support for the Palestinian people at a ministerial meeting on Jerusalem with Arab and Islamic counterparts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
According to a ministry statement, the meeting, hosted by Jordan in Amman, brought together foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries to discuss developments in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories and to coordinate a common diplomatic position.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Abdisalam held bilateral talks with several of his counterparts to discuss regional cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

The statement said the minister reaffirmed Somalia's support for the Palestinian people and its commitment to strengthening coordination among Arab and Islamic countries on issues related to Jerusalem and Palestine.
The meeting forms part of ongoing regional diplomatic efforts by Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate their response to developments concerning Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, according to the ministry.
