Mogadishu, 4 November 2024 MyBank has pledged to invest in Somalia’s fisheries sector, joining Somali banks that have set their sights on the country’s blue economy.
The pledge was made during the National Somali Fisheries Week conference, held on 26 and 27 October 2026.
MyBank Sales Manager , 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞 said the bank took part in the fisheries week, and that many companies working in the fishing sector visited the bank’s exhibition booth.
“As MyBank, we are ready to take part in economic development and to invest in fisheries,” 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐫 said.
MyBank joins other Somali banks that presented financing services for the sector during the fisheries week.
The increased interest in the fishing sector by banks highlights the economic opportunity in Somalia’s waters, which are among the richest in the world.
