Somalia, 15 June 2026 – Somali security forces killed five Al Shabaab members during a planned operation in Lower Juba's Horboole area, the Somali National Army said.
The operation was carried out by the army's Danab Brigade.
Those killed included commanders and fighters of the militant group, the army said in a statement.

The forces also recovered weapons, including one PKM machine gun and four AK-47 rifles, according to the statement.
The army did not give further details on when the operation took place or whether there were casualties among government forces.
It said the operation was part of continuing efforts to remove Al Shabaab and improve security for civilians.
