Dhuusamareeb (Dawan Africa) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday inaugurated several new government facilities in Dhuusamareeb, the capital of Galmudug State, in a move aimed at strengthening governance and expanding public services.
Joined by Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye, the head of state opened the new Galmudug State Parliament headquarters, a modern complex expected to enhance legislative work and provide lawmakers with improved facilities. Addressing the 12th session of the state assembly, President Mohamud said Galmudug was making progress that could serve as a model for other federal member states.
“Today Galmudug has reached an important stage that can serve as an example for other regions of the country. It is an honor to witness the implementation of projects that will significantly contribute to governance and the well-being of citizens,” he told lawmakers.
The president also inaugurated the new Dhuusamareeb Municipality headquarters, which has been designed to improve delivery of basic public services. He praised both the administration and residents of Galmudug for their commitment to implementing key development projects.
In addition, President Mohamud opened a new Construction Materials Testing Laboratory to ensure the quality of infrastructure projects, including roads and buildings, meets recognized standards.
The visit was seen as part of broader federal efforts to support Galmudug’s state-building process and improve service delivery to its citizens.
