New York, 23 September 2026 Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a series of bilateral meetings with international leaders in New York as he takes part in high-level diplomatic engagements linked to the United Nations.
The Somali president met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and the respective countries, alongside cooperation in peace, security, development and areas of mutual interest.

President Hassan Sheikh briefed the leaders on developments in Somalia, including progress in peace and security, state-building and democratic processes.
He also highlighted developments in Somalia's economy and efforts to improve public services, while discussing potential areas for expanded cooperation between Somalia and the countries represented in the meetings.
