Somalia, 11 April 2026 Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has congratulated Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh on his re-election, commending the country’s commitment to stability and democratic progress.
In a statement posted on social media on Saturday, Mohamud said he had spoken with Guelleh to convey his congratulations on his electoral success and renewed mandate.
“I commend the people of Djibouti for their commitment to stability and democratic progress,” Mohamud said.

He added that Somalia looks forward to strengthening its “brotherly relations” with Djibouti and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Djibouti on Friday held a presidential election in which Guelleh secured his sixth term in office.
