Somalia, 29 January 2026 The Somali Defence Ministry said on Thursday that four Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in the Mubarak area of the Lower Shabelle region during a counter-terrorism operation.
According to the ministry, the fighters were neutralised while attempting to plant landmines along key local roads, which could have endangered civilians.
