Saudi Arabia, 30 December 2025 In a Cabinet meeting chaired by King Salman, Saudi Arabia today officially rejected Israel's decision to recognize Somaliland as an independent state.
A statement on the meeting issued by Riyadh said King Salman and other members of the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for the unity and sovereignty of Somalia.
The cabinet reiterated their stance that Somalia is a unified country that cannot be divided.

The statement added that the members expressed concern about the negative impact Israel's recognition could have on regional peace, stressing that any attempt to undermine Somalia’s unity would face strong opposition.
The cabinet’s decision adds to the growing condemnation of Israel's action in Africa and the Middle East.
King Salman assured Somalia of Saudi Arabia’s continued support in its efforts to protect Somalia’s unity and sovereignty.
