Kenya, August 18, 2026 - President William Ruto is set to officially open the Kenya Health Summit 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi on Tuesday, as the government takes stock of its health reforms and charts the next phase of implementation.
The two-day summit, running from August 18 to 19, brings together national and county governments, health sector stakeholders, global partners and innovators under the theme “Reforms Delivered, Health as a Right.”
The meeting is expected to shift attention from policy commitments to how the reforms are being implemented and experienced by Kenyans.
Key areas on the agenda include the Social Health Authority (SHA), digital health transformation, primary healthcare, maternal and newborn services, specialised care and improvements in the efficiency of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
The summit will also assess the government's efforts to onboard more than 31 million Kenyans onto SHA and strengthen the role of Community Health Promoters in taking healthcare services closer to households.
