13 June 2026 - Risa Foundation, in partnership with the Ademasajida, Wajir West Professionals Association and the Centre for Health and Education Programmes, has launched a three-day Free Eye Camp aimed at restoring sight and improving access to quality eye care services for vulnerable members of the community.
The medical outreach is expected to benefit more than 200 patients through cataract surgeries, while hundreds of others will receive eye examinations, medication, and specialized treatment from a team of experienced eye care professionals.
The initiative follows the success of last year's programme, during which more than 800 residents were screened and treated for various eye-related conditions.
Speaking during the launch, the main sponsor, Risa Foundation CEO Sultan RISA, commended the Ademasajida Professionals Association for its unwavering commitment to serving the community and addressing critical health challenges affecting local residents.
Many of the beneficiaries are elderly persons and vulnerable families whose access to healthcare has been affected by poverty, climate-related shocks, and limited medical services.

The event was marked by emotional testimonies from beneficiaries and community members who expressed gratitude to the sponsors and partners for bringing life-changing medical services closer to the people.
The surgical procedures are being conducted by a team of specialist ophthalmologists, opticians, and eye care consultants from Nairobi, ensuring that patients receive professional and high-quality treatment throughout the camp.
