Somalia, 4 May 2026 Puntland authorities opened a football stadium in Bosaso in honour of soldiers killed in the operations in Almiskad mountains, officials said.
Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni inaugurated the Shuhadada Stadium on Sunday night at a ceremony attended by local officials and residents.

The stadium, whose construction began in January 2023, was supported by funding from the United Arab Emirates, officials said, although the cost was not disclosed.
Authorities said the facility is among the largest sports projects in Bari region and is expected to host football competitions and youth sporting events.
The opening coincided with the launch of the Almiskaad Cup, a regional tournament involving teams representing Puntland’s administrative capitals.
Officials said the stadium is intended to promote sports development and provide a platform for youth engagement in Bosaso and surrounding areas.
