Bosaso, 20 September 2026 – Puntland is planning to increase revenue from its coastline as officials seek to strengthen collection and management of income from coastal resources and services.
A meeting in the port city of Bosaso brought together officials from Puntland's Ministry of Finance to discuss ways to improve coastal revenue collection and ensure funds are properly recorded and transferred to the regional state's treasury.
The meeting was opened by Deputy Director General for Revenue Abdulqadir Ahmed Hashi. Senior ministry officials and other staff also attended.
Officials discussed strengthening revenue registration and collection, improving transparency and accountability, and introducing modern systems to monitor and manage income from coastal activities.
