UK, July 31, 2026 - Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is set to return to competitive football after his long-running doping case was brought to a conclusion, ending months of uncertainty over the Ukrainian international's future.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mudryk has now been cleared to play again and is expected to join Chelsea's squad in Hong Kong for the club's pre-season tour. The 25-year-old will be available for selection immediately, marking the end of one of the most closely followed disciplinary cases in recent football.
The development comes after a difficult period that saw Mudryk sidelined from all football activities while awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
A Case That Began With a Positive Test
Mudryk's troubles began in late 2024 when he returned an adverse analytical finding during an anti-doping test. The substance involved was reported to be meldonium, a drug that has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list since 2016.
Following the result, the Football Association provisionally suspended the Chelsea winger while the case was investigated.
