Nairobi (Dawan Africa) – Authorities in Nairobi have announced extensive road closures across the city from Saturday, 10 PM to Sunday, 4 PM to facilitate the Nairobi City Marathon scheduled for Sunday.
According to the official traffic advisory, the Nairobi Expressway will be closed in both directions from James Gichuru to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) starting Saturday night until Sunday 3 PM. Several other major roads and intersections across the city will also be affected by the closures.

Uhuru Highway, a key arterial road in Nairobi, will be closed from 12 AM to 2 PM, impacting the stretch between the Southern Bypass/Langata Roundabout and Kenyatta Avenue. Additionally, Kenyatta Avenue will be closed from 12 AM to 4 PM, between the PanAfric Hotel and Uhuru Highway.
Other roads affected by the closures include University Way, Haile Selassie Avenue, Popo Road, Kapiti Road, and areas around Capital Centre.
