9:03am - Minimal activity in Kitengela and accessing it has been hard with heavy police presence on the GenZ protest anniversary.
8:55 am: Widespread police roadblocks and traffic snarl-ups have hit Nairobi ahead of the June 25 protests, leaving many commuters stranded after public service vehicles were blocked from entering the CBD. Checkpoints and heavy security are in place on major routes, Thika Road, Mombasa Road, Jogoo Road, Waiyaki Way, Kiambu Road, Ngong Road, Limuru Road and the Eastern Bypass, and the Parliament precinct has been barricaded with razor wire. In Mombasa, however, business in the CBD is continuing as usual.
8:50am: Commuter chaos has worsened across Nairobi , passengers are stuck at matatu stages after a widespread shortage of public service vehicles. The few vans running are being held back from the CBD by police roadblocks. Most businesses in Nairobi and the metro area are shut over security fears, and extra police checkpoints have been set up in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.
