12 December 2025 - Kenyans are celebrating 62nd Jamhuri Day. President William Ruto has said that the architects of Kenya fought for the nation's independence and gave the citizens a focused future.
"We need to fight poverty, diseases, and ignorance," he said.

President of Ghana John Mahama Dramani: "Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Kwame Nkrumah fought for independence of African states."
Ghanaian president has thanked Kenya for sending troops to Haiti to restore peace. He has said that Ghana also participates in global efforts, like sending troops to help Jamaica rebuild after it was hit by a hurricane.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja: "The late Tom Mboya was a patriot who set the bar so high. Another hero from Nairobi is the late prime minister Raila Odinga who served as an MP for a long time. We can only emulate the good work they did. Raila and Tom Mboya were nationalist and shunned tribal cocoons."
Governor Sakaja has also urged Kenyans to visit tourist attraction sites in Nairobi and other parts of the country. He has also urged President William Ruto to rename Talanta Stadium to Raila Odinga International Stadium.
