kenya, 12 November 2025 – The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of Kenya, in collaboration with the UNODC Anti-Corruption Hub for Africa and the East African Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (EAAACA), is hosting a high-level regional workshop focused on enhancing financial integrity and cross-border cooperation in the fight against corruption.
The workshop brings together investigators, prosecutors, Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), regulators, and private-sector representatives from across Eastern and Southern Africa to share best practices and strengthen regional collaboration.
The event was officially opened by EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud, who reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to promoting financial transparency, regional cooperation, and reforms aligned with global anti-corruption and anti–money laundering (AML) standards.
Participants are developing regional indicators to track progress in asset recovery and financial integrity reforms, which will later be presented for endorsement at the upcoming EAAACA Assembly.

With active contributions from Ethiopia, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya, and other regional and private-sector experts, the workshop highlights the importance of collective action and cross-border coordination in combating illicit financial flows.
The initiative reinforces Africa’s shared commitment to strengthening financial integrity and positions Kenya as a regional leader in implementing the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards on asset recovery.
