BAYDHABO (Dawan Africa) — The Secretary General of Somalia’s Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP), Hussain Sheikh Mohamud, on Saturday called on residents of South West State to participate in Sunday’s elections and support the party in the vote.
Speaking ahead of the elections, Hussain described the polls as a historic opportunity for South West residents to choose their political representatives and leaders.
“Tomorrow is a historic day. It is a day when the people of South West will express themselves through both their votes and actions,” he said.
He said voting would take place across different districts and urged eligible voters to use the opportunity to elect representatives at local council and state levels.

The JSP secretary general specifically encouraged residents holding voter registration cards to attend polling stations, saying participation would help shape the political future of South West State.
“I call on the people of South West to give their votes to the Justice and Solidarity Party, JSP,” Hussain said.
He added that the party promises governance based on justice, unity and leadership responsive to public concerns, while pledging to protect equality and community interests.
The South West elections are expected to allow voters to elect local councils, state representatives and political leaders under the region’s ongoing electoral process.
