Kenya, 4 August 2026 - The Humanity Growth and Development Agency Education Trust (HGDAET) has officially launched the Imam Al-Shafi’i Academic Training Course 2026, a comprehensive educational programme aimed at equipping Grade 12 students with the academic knowledge, life skills, and motivation needed to excel in their final examinations and pursue higher education.
The official opening ceremony was held at Darul-Hadith Al-Khairi Mosque, bringing together HGDAET leadership, school principals, Islamic scholars, teachers, alumni, parents, community leaders, and invited guests in a show of support for education and youth empowerment.
The event was presided over by HGDAET Secretary General Sheikh Taqiuddin Hassan Afey, who highlighted the organization's effort in nurturing academic excellence and producing responsible future leaders through quality education and mentorship.
Organized in collaboration with the HGDA Alumni Association, the intensive training programme will provide students with revision classes, examination preparation strategies, mentorship, career guidance, motivational talks, and personal development sessions.
The programme will be facilitated by experienced teachers, Islamic scholars, university graduates, and professionals from various fields.
Speaking during the launch, Sheikh Afey encouraged students to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their studies, emphasizing that education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and uplifting communities.

He further commended the alumni association for giving back to the community by mentoring the next generation of learners, describing the initiative as a reflection of the values of service, unity, and educational excellence.
Education stakeholders attending the ceremony praised the initiative, noting that it will help strengthen students' academic performance while preparing them for university education and future careers. They also called on parents and guardians to continue supporting learners throughout the programme.
The Imam Al-Shafi’i Academic Training Course has become one of HGDAET's flagship education initiatives, providing students with a supportive learning environment that combines academic coaching with moral guidance and leadership development.
The 2027 edition is expected to benefit hundreds of Grade 12 candidates, reaffirming HGDAET's long-standing commitment to expanding access to quality education, promoting academic excellence, and empowering young people to become productive members of society.
