Kenya, December 8 2025 - The 15th edition of the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games is in full swing in Kampala, Uganda, running from December 5 to 17, 2025.
The annual event brings together parliamentarians from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) to compete in football, basketball, volleyball, netball, athletics, and other disciplines.
So far, the hosts who are also the defending champions have stamped their authority across nearly every competition.
Football: Uganda Open with a Statement Win
At MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Uganda, kicked off their men’s football campaign with a commanding 4-1 victory over Burundi on December 6. After leading 1-0 at halftime, Burundi briefly equalized in the 53rd minute. But Uganda quickly regained control, thanks to Hon. Denis Sekabira, who delivered a sensational hat-trick to seal the match. Uganda now prepares for a highly anticipated clash against Kenya today at 6 PM.

Basketball & Volleyball: Uganda in Total Control
In women’s basketball, Uganda overpowered Kenya 40-20 in a one-sided contest at Lugogo Indoor Arena. Captain Hon. Suzan Amero shone with 16 points, supported by Hon. Connie Galiwango and Hon. Hellen Nakimuli.
Uganda’s women’s volleyball team was equally dominant, sweeping Rwanda 3-0 with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-6. Later in the day, they comfortably defeated EALA in another straight-sets victory, underlining their regional superiority.
