Djibouti (Dawan Africa) Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh said his new government will prioritize inclusive development, industrialization, job creation, technology and resilience against global crises.
President Guelleh made the remarks during the first meeting of the new Council of Ministers, since his re-election on April 10.
In his speech, Guelleh said economic growth would have little meaning if it did not improve people’s lives.
“Economic growth makes no sense if it does not translate into social development,” President Guelleh said.
The president said Djibouti needs to accelerate industrialization and build more factories, so its port and logistics infrastructure can support the economy.
“We must accelerate the industrialization of our country. We must encourage the establishment of production units,” he said.
