Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) - Djibouti’s Finance Minister, Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, highlighted the crucial role that unity will play in overcoming the challenges Somalia faces as it works towards its development goals. “With the unity of your government and people, there is no doubt that you will overcome these challenges,” he stated, stressing that national cohesion is vital for achieving the ambitious objectives outlined in Somalia’s long-term development plan.
Although unable to attend the event in person due to travel commitments, the Finance Minister extended warm greetings on behalf of Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh and the people of Djibouti. He expressed full support for Somalia’s Vision 2060, describing it as a transformative initiative that will guide the country toward growth, stability, and prosperity.
The Minister acknowledged the significant challenges Somalia faces—both internally and externally—but expressed strong confidence in the country’s resilience. He encouraged Somalia to continue its progress despite the obstacles, emphasizing that unity will be key to overcoming them.
