Djibouti, 19 April 2026 Djibouti has pledged to improve services for Hajj pilgrims as preparations for the annual pilgrimage enter operational phase, state news agency ADI reported Saturday.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Culture and Charitable Assets Moumin Hassan Barreh met with members of the Djibouti Hajj Mission committee to assess the progress of preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage season.
The meeting focused on administrative arrangements, coordination of operations and the mobilization of staff tasked with supporting Djiboutian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

Officials said particular emphasis would be placed on improving services for pilgrims, including ensuring smoother travel, better accommodation and strengthened support in religious guidance and healthcare.
Barreh called for strengthening coordination among different components of the Hajj mission, stressing strict adherence to organizational rules.
Djibouti sends more than 1,500 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia each year to perform Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, requiring significant logistical and human resources.
