Djibouti, 20 August 2026 – Djibouti’s Ministry of Labour has begun consultations on its 2026–2030 action plan, intended to set the ministry’s priorities for the next five years, according to the Djibouti News Agency.
Minister of Labour, Yonis Ali Guedi, opened a workshop to review and validate the new plan, taking place on August 19 and 20, 2026.
The meeting brought together officials from the ministry, government institutions, and international partners, including representatives from the United Nations, the European Union, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).
The strategy focuses on expanding employment opportunities, particularly for young people, improving skills, regulating the labour market, strengthening social dialogue and improving employment services.

Discussions also covered the modernization of public employment services, strengthening the ministry’s administrative capacity, supporting job seekers and improving opportunities for labor mobility.
Minister Guedi said challenges in the labour market require cooperation between government institutions, businesses, workers’ organizations and development partners in order to develop sustainable solutions.
The consultations are expected to finalize, strengthen and validate the ministry’s 2026–2030 plan, which will guide Djibouti’s labour and skills-development policies over the next five years.
