Kenya, 8 May 2026 - A new performance ranking in Kenya shows Wajir South is among the five constituencies in the country that have significantly improved the standard of education by efficiently using the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) funds under the leadership of area MP Mohamed Adow.
The Wajir South Scholarship for Teachers Programme was launched in October 2022.
This initiative was born out of a simple but urgent need — to find a local solution to the acute shortage of teachers in the constituency’s schools.
For years, children’s learning was severely affected when the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) withdrew thousands of non-local teachers from the North Eastern region.
