Laascaanood, (Dawan Africa) – The President of SSC-Khaatumo State, Mr. Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, welcomed H.E. Ambassador Carsten Carlsen, the Norwegian Ambassador to Somalia, alongside a high-level delegation from the Nordic International Support Foundation (NIS) for an official visit to Laascaanood, the capital city of SSC-Khaatumo.
The meeting centered on key discussions regarding development cooperation, humanitarian initiatives, peacebuilding efforts, and the ongoing state-building process in SSC-Khaatumo.
President Abdikadir opened the meeting by emphasizing the long-standing friendship between Norway and the people of SSC-Khaatumo. He expressed sincere gratitude for Norway’s continued support, particularly through development projects that have been instrumental in the growth of the region. The President also underscored SSC-Khaatumo's dedication to peace and stability, highlighting the region as a symbol of peace within the Horn of Africa. He further stressed the importance of fostering peaceful relationships with neighboring communities.
In his remarks, Ambassador Carlsen thanked President Abdikadir and the people of Laascaanood for their warm reception and hospitality. He reiterated Norway’s ongoing commitment to supporting development initiatives in SSC-Khaatumo and praised the region’s consistent progress in state-building.
