Hargeisa (Dawan Africa) – The President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), held a high-level meeting with the leadership of the three main political parties in Somaliland — WADDANI, KULMIYE, and KAAH — during which they jointly condemned what they described as political interference by the Federal Government of Somalia.
According to an official statement issued by the Somaliland Presidency, political leaders expressed deep concern over alleged interference from the Somali federal authorities, particularly in the eastern Sool region. The parties warned that the escalating tension could lead to serious unrest, threatening regional peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
"We call on the international community to closely monitor the incitement of conflict that could lead to bloodshed in areas within Somaliland," the statement read.
The party leaders also emphasized that the current situation in Sool poses a direct threat to local peace and governance efforts, undermining Somaliland’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democracy and state institutions.
The meeting follows a recent joint discussion held just two days earlier between the opposition parties KAAH and KULMIYE, which also focused on Somaliland’s political landscape, including the volatile situation in the regions of Sool and eastern Sanaag.
