The president is expected to meet Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other senior figures for talks on regional stability and Somalia’s diplomatic priorities. His participation comes as the forum opens under the theme “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.”
This year’s agenda includes sessions on mediation efforts amid geopolitical fragmentation, the economic impact of global trade tensions in the Middle East and North Africa, and renewed debate over international responsibilities in the Gaza conflict. Panels will also address conflicts in Ukraine, Yemen, Syria and the Sahel, alongside discussions on shifting alliances involving the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the coalition of emerging economies (BRICS) and Western partners.
Somalia’s delegation sees the gathering as an opportunity to highlight the country’s diplomatic engagement and to seek broader support for security and development priorities in the Horn of Africa.
