Somalia, 2 February 2026 The President of North East State, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw Ali, today inaugurated a new road connecting the capital, Las Anod; and other parts of region.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Pesident Abdikadir said the 3.2km road offers an opportunity for the local community and the government to work together in developing the new state.

“This new road is part of major plans aimed at developing the region and its communities,” said the President, noting that the new road and other critical infrastructure projects will contribute to the region’s economic development and enhance security.
The new road will also connect the public to essential services like hospitals and schools, helping strengthen relations between the public and local government.
