Somalia, 29 April 2026 Somalia’s Justice and Solidarity Party on Wednesday named Aden Mohamed Nur Madobe as its candidate South West State President.
JSP Secretary General, Hussein Sheikh Mohamud, made the announcement at Shaati Gaduud airport in Baidoa after arriving in the city.
“We have come to Baidoa to announce that the JSP candidate for the South West presidency is Aden Madobe,” he said.

The secretary-general said the party plans to accelerate the nomination of its representatives to local councils and the regional House of Representatives as part of its effort to win the elections.
The announcement comes as Baidoa prepares for two-tier elections in South West State.
Elections for local councils and the regional House of Representatives have been scheduled for May 10, according to the electoral commission.
