Somalia, 17 November 2025 — The Office of the Attorney General of Somalia has launched a criminal investigation following a complaint filed by a Somali passenger who alleges he was subjected to mistreatment by a Turkish Airlines official at Mogadishu’s airport.
According to the Attorney General’s statement today, the complaint was filed by Abdifitah Ahmed Huseen, who claims he was unlawfully denied boarding and mistreated by the Airline's Station Manager in Mogadishu.
The passenger accuses the manager of “abuse of authority” and violating his constitutional rights during travel procedures.
After receiving the complaint, the Attorney General opened a formal case and has begun examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The office said appropriate legal action will be taken once the investigation is complete.
The Attorney General’s Office stressed that it is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all individuals living in Somalia.
The investigation follows a string of social-media complaints and allegations posted recently by travellers.
The Turkish Airlines — which first resumed flights to Mogadishu in 2012, becoming the first major international carrier in over two decades to serve the Somali capital.
