Oman, 26 April 2026 Somalia seeks more Gulf market access for livestock exports after talks with Oman on trade and farm ties, the foreign ministry said.
The push came during a meeting in Muscat on Sunday between Somalia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, and Oman’s Agriculture Minister, Saud bin Hamoud al-Habsi.
Discussions focused on improving market access for Somali livestock, developing fisheries through joint investment, and strengthening agricultural productivity through irrigation, technology transfer and value chain development, the statement said.
The two sides also explored cooperation in cold chain infrastructure and processing facilities aimed at supporting exports.

The two countries agreed to initiate technical engagements and promote private sector partnerships, including joint ventures and investment facilitation, the ministry said.
Oman reaffirmed its support for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity during the talks, according to the statement.
