Mogadishu, 14 September 2026 Somalia and Britain discussed strengthening cooperation in football and the development of girls' and women's football during a meeting between the Somali Football Federation president and Britain's ambassador to Somalia, the federation said Sunday.
Somali Football Federation President Ali Abdi Mohamed received Ambassador Charles Nicholas King and his delegation at the federation's headquarters, according to a statement posted by the federation.
During the visit, King was briefed on the activities and development programmes of Somalia's under-17 and under-15 girls' national teams, which are part of efforts to develop women's and girls' football in the country.

The meeting also included officials from the federation's women's football, technical and regional development departments, as well as other staff members.
The federation said the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen relations and cooperation in areas supporting the development of sport in Somalia.
