Algiers (Dawan Africa) Somalia’s Interior Minister Ali Yusuf Hosh and his Algerian counterpart Saïd Sayoud discussed security cooperation and counter-terrorism during talks in Algiers, the ministry said.
The meeting was attended by Algeria’s ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Alim, and Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Yusuf Ahmed Hassan.
Hosh also visited Algeria’s National Centre for Secure Documents, where he held talks on national identification, citizen registration and production of high-security documents, the ministry added.
The centre is responsible for producing and safeguarding Algeria’s official citizen documents, including biometric passports, national identity cards, driving licences and other high-security documents.

Thee Algerian officials briefed the delegation on the centre’s operations, the technology it uses, and its role in preventing document forgery and identity theft.
The ministry said Hosh's visit is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Somalia and Algeria in modern public administration, national identification and registration.
The two countries also agreed to exchange expertise in identity systems, civil registration and high-security documents.
