Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) Somalia’s National Communications Authority trained 15 government workers on cybersecurity, the agency said on Monday.
The 15 ICT professionals were part of the first cohort of the Cybersecurity Certification Training Program for government staff, which ran from March 29 to May 10, 2026.
The training was delivered through a blended format, with sessions held in Mogadishu, online, and in Nairobi, Kenya. Participants gained knowledge and skills to help prepare them for internationally recognized cybersecurity certifications.
The authority’s director general, Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, said the completion of the first cohort marked an important step toward building a skilled workforce capable of protecting Somalia’s digital systems.
