Somalia, 3 April 2026 – Somalia’s National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) distributed food aid to 1,000 vulnerable families in Hudur district of Bakool region on Thursday, as authorities step up efforts to respond to worsening drought conditions.
The beneficiaries included low-income households, people with disabilities and recently displaced families affected by deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the area.
According to SoDMA, the aid consisted of various food items aimed at easing pressure on communities facing prolonged dry conditions and food shortages.
The distribution was attended by local authorities of Bakool region and district of Hudur, who welcomed the support amid increasing hardship across the district.
