WAJID, Somalia, September 14, 2026 The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has delivered food assistance to 4,000 low-income families in Wajid district, Bakool region, in South West State.
SoDMA said the assistance prioritised highly vulnerable families affected by drought and worsening living conditions.
A video published by the agency on its Facebook page on Sunday showed families receiving essential food supplies, including flour, rice, sugar and cooking oil.

The assistance is part of a drought-response programme supporting families affected by poor rainfall and food insecurity across parts of the country.
Some beneficiaries thanked SoDMA for the assistance, saying it would help meet their immediate household needs.
In recent months, SoDMA has delivered humanitarian assistance to several areas across Somalia, focusing on vulnerable families affected by drought.
