Somalia, 7 Dec 2025 – Somalia’s Defence Minister, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, met today with Egypt’s newly appointed Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Salah Keshtah, at the Ministry of Defence headquarters, the ministry said.
The meeting, attended by the Chief of the Somali National Army, General Odowaa Yusuf Raage, focused on military cooperation, strengthening strategic ties, and exploring areas for expanded collaboration between the two countries.
Ambassador Keshtah formally presented his credentials to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday.

The discussions come as Egyptian forces are expected to participate in the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM)..
