Somalia, 3 April 2026 Puntland State's Auditor General has ordered ministers, deputy ministers and other senior state officials to declare their assets, aiming to strengthen government accountability and transparency.
According to a statement issued by the auditor general’s office all senior government officials are required to disclose their assets in line with constitutional provisions that mandate public officials to submit their financial declarations while in office.
The office noted that the requirement is based on Article 77 of the Puntland Constitution, which prohibits public officials from engaging in private business while holding office and obliges them to regularly declare their assets, particularly during the early months of their tenure.
