Somalia 3 May 2026 – Developing tourism sites could draw more diaspora visitors back to Somalia, Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni said, if services and facilities improve.
Deni made the remarks in Boosaaso, where he inaugurated Baalade Tourism Park, a new tourism and leisure facility established in the city.
Deni said modern tourism sites could encourage members of the diaspora to visit the country, invest or spend their holidays in Puntland.

The president praised Puntland businesspeople investing in their homeland, saying such projects are proof of the existence of economic opportunities in the region.
Baalade Tourism Park was developed by businessman Abdullatif Yusuf Barre. The opening of the park comes as Puntland promotes private-sector investment, particularly in social services, tourism and leisure facilities seen as potential contributors to local economic growth.
