Kenya, June 19, 2026 - The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has launched an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign across the country as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement issued by ODM Director of Communications Phillip Etale, the party announced a series of activities aimed at re-energising its support base and strengthening its structures at the grassroots level following a resolution by its Central Committee.
The campaign kicks off this weekend in Kwale County, where top ODM leaders are expected to meet grassroots officials before addressing a public rally in Kwale Town.
According to Etale, the meeting seeks to reactivate the party's support base and consolidate its influence in the coastal region as political realignments gather momentum across the country.
"The objective of this meeting is to re-energise the Party and reactivate its support base in the County as we prepare for the 2027 General Election," Etale said.
The Kwale event, scheduled for Saturday at Kwale Baraza Park, is expected to bring together party officials, elected leaders, grassroots mobilisers and supporters from across the county.
The move comes at a time when political parties are intensifying grassroots engagement amid growing speculation over alliances and succession politics ahead of the next polls.
ODM will also hold a Youth Convention in Busia County on June 28, bringing together youth leaders from all seven sub-counties to deliberate on issues affecting young people and the future of the party.

Etale said the convention will focus on strengthening youth participation in party affairs and sustaining Busia's position as one of ODM's strongest political bases.
The youth leaders are expected to discuss the county's youth agenda and strategies aimed at expanding ODM membership among young voters.
Both events will be attended by the party's top national leadership, underscoring ODM's determination to maintain its grassroots dominance as the battle for political influence ahead of the 2027 elections gathers pace.
Political analysts view the renewed grassroots campaign as part of a broader strategy by ODM to consolidate its traditional strongholds while expanding its reach into regions that could prove decisive in the next General Election.
The activities are expected to provide an early indication of the party's mobilisation strength and readiness for the high-stakes political contest that lies ahead.
