LAS ANOD (Dawan Africa) – North East State President Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali pledged to continue improving public services and work closely with the federal government to unify the country.
The President made the remarks during the launch of a power project for health and education facilities in the state.
He said delays in implementing development projects or a lack of public services in some areas should not be taken as evidence the administration is collapsing or under threat.
“Our administration will continue to exist whether the projects are implemented or delayed,” Aw-Ali said.
The President stated that the administration was established through the will of the people and a long-running political struggle. He added that its existence could not be tied to the drilling of a well, the construction of a public facility or the implementation of any other development project.

He urged the public not to believe claims circulating on social media that delays in development projects represented a failure or collapse of the administration.
The President also said that relations between the federal government and the North East State administration remained strong, adding that federal leaders were working to ensure that development projects and international assistance were delivered directly to areas under the administration.
He further noted that delays involving World Bank projects and programmes supported by other organisations were not unique to North East State, saying that other federal member states had faced similar challenges during their early stages.
Aw-Ali said his administration would continue its efforts to promote development, improve public services and strengthen cooperation with the federal government.
