Nairobi (Dawan Africa) – Kenyan activists organized a convoy of vehicles and motorcycles through the streets of Nairobi on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to demonstrate solidarity with the people of Gaza. Participants waved Palestinian flags and chanted “Freedom for Palestine” as the procession moved through the capital, bringing attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The convoy comes amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza, where nearly 62,700 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023 due to Israeli military operations. The region is also facing a severe famine, exacerbating the humanitarian disaster.
In November 2023, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the enclave.
The Nairobi demonstration highlights a growing global movement calling for an end to the violence and urging greater international attention to the situation in Gaza.
