Kenya, 26 December 2025 - As the year draws to a close and families search for meaningful ways to spend the holidays, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is urging Kenyans to swap crowded towns for open savannahs, beaches and forests, at a reduced cost.
In a festive Boxing Day offer running until 31 December, KWS has announced limited-time group discounts that allow families and friends to enjoy Kenya’s national parks, sanctuaries and marine parks with free entries for selected visitors.
The initiative is aimed at making wildlife experiences more affordable while encouraging domestic tourism during the busy holiday period.
Describing the promotion as a “season’s wildest gift”, KWS said the offer gives Kenyans a rare chance to reconnect with nature before the year ends.
“Gather your family and friends and enjoy special group offers across Kenya’s parks, sanctuaries and marine parks, only five days left,” the agency said in a post on social media platform X.
Under the deal, families of five visiting sanctuaries or marine parks will receive free entry for one child aged between six and 17 years.
The same benefit applies to groups travelling in five-seater vehicles, where one child gains free access for every five passengers.

Larger groups also stand to gain. Visitors arriving in a fully occupied 25-seater bus will enjoy free entry for two adults, while those travelling in seven-seater vans or eight-seater Land Cruisers will receive complimentary entry for one adult.
Beyond park entry, KWS has extended the festive cheer to accommodation. Guests who book three nights at selected KWS-managed lodges and facilities will receive the fourth night free, making longer wildlife getaways more accessible during the holiday rush.
The promotion applies exclusively to Kenyan citizens and covers all KWS-managed destinations, including terrestrial parks, marine parks and wildlife sanctuaries. Standard entry and accommodation rates will resume after 31 December 31.
KWS said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to strengthen Kenyans’ connection to the country’s wildlife heritage while supporting local tourism.
“Make memories, reconnect with nature, and close the year surrounded by Kenya’s wildlife,” the agency urged.
