Kenya, 21 June 2026 - The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Mombasa Chapter has partnered with NextRail Africa Limited to launch Anwani Yangu, a digital business addressing and discoverability platform aimed at improving the visibility and accessibility of businesses across Mombasa County.
The initiative, described as Kenya's first comprehensive business addressing and digital discoverability system, will provide enterprises with verified digital addresses, geospatial locations, professional online profiles and QR-enabled business identities.
The platform targets businesses of all sizes, including informal traders, street vendors, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), as well as large corporations.
Speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between KNCCI Mombasa and NextRail Africa, KNCCI Mombasa Chairman Aboud Jamal said the platform would address a long-standing challenge facing many businesses in the county.
“For too long, many hardworking businesses in Mombasa have been known by landmarks rather than addresses. Anwani Yangu changes that. We are giving every biashara an identity, a location and a digital presence that can be discovered not only in Mombasa but anywhere in Kenya and around the world,” said Mr Jamal.
He said the initiative is expected to unlock new economic opportunities by increasing business visibility, enhancing customer trust and expanding access to digital markets.
According to KNCCI, the platform was developed following consultations with businesses, industry associations and technology partners to ensure enterprises of all sizes can compete effectively in the digital economy.
The partnership brings together KNCCI Mombasa, NextRail Africa and other stakeholders to harness technology and geospatial innovation in creating a more inclusive business environment.
The project has received backing from business associations in the county, with the Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (AMSEA) urging entrepreneurs to embrace the platform.
AMSEA Chairman Ronald Alwanga said many small businesses have consistently sought solutions that would improve their visibility and make it easier for customers to locate them.

“Our members have consistently expressed the need for greater visibility, easier customer access and stronger participation in the digital economy. Anwani Yangu directly addresses these needs,” he said.
NextRail Africa Director Abdulhakim Ibrahim said the platform would help solve challenges associated with inaccurate or unverifiable business locations.
“Through Anwani Yangu, we are deploying secure and scalable technology that equips businesses with verified digital identities, precise locations and trusted visibility. This will make it easier for businesses to be found, trusted and connected,” he said.
The Kenya Transport Association also endorsed the initiative, saying it would improve efficiency in the logistics and transport sector.
Association Chairman Newton Wang’oo said the platform would reduce delays and enable transporters, delivery firms and service providers to locate businesses more accurately.
KNCCI said the digital addressing system is expected to increase customer traffic and sales, strengthen trust through verified digital identities and enhance business competitiveness.
For MSMEs and informal traders, the platform is expected to create a level playing field by ensuring businesses can be located and accessed regardless of their size or location.
The rollout of Anwani Yangu is expected to position Mombasa as a leader in digital business innovation while supporting efforts to drive economic growth and inclusion through technology.
