Kenya, May 12, 2026 - The Jubilee Party has officially named Eng. Wilson Kigwa as its flag-bearer for the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election in Nyandarua County, setting the stage for an intensified political contest in the constituency.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms on Tuesday, Jubilee Party Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta said the party had concluded its internal consultations and nomination process following an open call for interested aspirants.
Ole Kenta said the party received applications from several qualified contenders, describing the exercise as competitive and reflective of continued public confidence in the Jubilee Party’s structures and leadership.
“Through our party constitution, the guidance of the National Elections Board and other relevant party organs, and in consultation with the aspirants who qualified, the party has settled on Eng. Wilson Kigwa who will now fly the party flag in the forthcoming by-election,” he said.
He announced that Jubilee was now fully mobilized for the campaign period, signalling a strong push to retain the seat.
“As a party, we wish to affirm that it is now all systems go for Jubilee in Ol Kalou. Jubilee Party remains stronger, more focused, and more prepared than ever before,” Ole Kenta said.

He added that the party would immediately roll out its campaign machinery across the constituency, with leadership, grassroots structures, and supporters expected to intensify mobilisation.
“We are fully mobilized and ready to engage the people of Ol Kalou with a message of hope, development, unity, and accountable leadership,” he stated.
Ole Kenta also referenced the legacy of the late area Member of Parliament, noting that he served his third term under the Jubilee Party ticket, and pledged continuity in service delivery and development-oriented leadership.
“We remain committed to protecting and advancing the legacy of service, development, and people-centred leadership that he stood for,” he said.
The nomination sets up what is expected to be a closely watched political battle in Ol Kalou as parties move to consolidate support ahead of the by-election.
