The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dispute Resolution Committee is hearing a complaint against Kipipiri Member of Parliament Wanjiku Muhia over allegations that she made inflammatory remarks during a campaign rally in Ol Kalou Constituency.
The case has been brought under the Electoral Code of Conduct as the country prepares for the July 16 by-elections.
The committee is chaired by IEBC Commissioner Dr. Alutalala Mukhwana, with Commissioners Hassan Noor Hassan and Marykaren Sorobit serving as members.
During the proceedings, the committee is expected to hear submissions from both parties, receive testimony from witnesses, examine evidence presented, and consider all relevant facts before reaching a determination in accordance with the law.
The IEBC said the hearing forms part of its constitutional mandate to enforce compliance with the Electoral Code of Conduct and safeguard peaceful, lawful, and credible electoral processes.
