Somalia, 29 April 2026 Health Minister Ali Haji Adam said Somalia's national immunization coverage reached 76 per cent, citing increased access to vaccination services.
Minister Adam announced the figure during the launch of Africa’s Immunization Strategy in Nairobi, the health ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the progress reflects government efforts to expand vaccination services, particularly for children and vulnerable groups.
The minister also pointed to the establishment of a National Immunization and Polio Eradication Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, as a sign of increased political commitment to tackling preventable diseases.
