Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) Former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre accused government forces of illegally entering homes and confiscating valuables in fake investigations, calling the act unlawful and a threat to public safety.
“People’s homes are being entered into, and valuables such as gold and mobile phones confiscated in front of their eyes. This is not a legitimate government practice,” Khayre said.
He made the remarks today at a press conference in Mogadishu, held by the opposition to discuss the country's political situation.

Khayre also emphasized that peaceful protests are a constitutional right and that citizens should not be intimidated.
He warned that the government does not have the capacity to control the entire population and urged authorities to respect citizens’ rights and avoid illegal actions that could erode public trust and national stability.
