Ethiopia 14 November 2025 — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has expressed his country’s deep appreciation for the unified African support Addis Ababa received during the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) held in Belém, Brazil, stressing that Africa “spoke with one voice, and the world listened.”
Abiy noted that the consensus among the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) to back Ethiopia’s bid to host the COP32 summit in 2027 reflects the level of confidence the continent and the international community place in Ethiopia’s ability to lead global climate action and organize major international events.
“We are proud that the international community trusts Ethiopia to host one of the most important conferences shaping the future of humanity,” the Prime Minister said.
